UMPIRE TRAINING

Los Gatos Little League usually hosts the District 12 youth clinic in February or early March to help officials get ready for the season. All new and returning umpires should attend this clinic prior to working any games. Umpires are considered independent contractors based on their expertise in applying the rules of Little League Baseball.

Youth Umpire Clinic - Date and Time TBD (as of Dec 18th, 2022)

Led by our own District 12 umpire (and plate umpire for the 2012 Little League World Series Championship Game) Dan Campagnolo, this clinic covers the mechanics of Little League umpiring including calling balls and strikes, field positioning, and making the basic Little League calls. This clinic is open to all returning and new youth umpires.

Western Region Outreach Umpire Clinic - TBD

The most thorough and complete clinic to learn umpiring skills for new and experienced older youth and adult umpires as well as managers and coaches. We highly encourage those that umpire at the Majors level to attend.  The clinic is taught by Little League World Series Umpires and Western Region Instructors and is free to attend.
