Padres Defeat Giants to Win 2021 Majors Championship

After forcing Game 2 with a win on Tuesday, the Giants tried to win back to back games coming out of the losers bracket on Wednesday against the Padres. After blanking the Giants in the top of the first, the Padres took an early lead when Josh Pearman hit a 2 run home run to center field. The lead lasted for a few innings until the Giants stormed back with three runs of their own. With the game tied at 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth, the Giants retired the first batter but Kalion Kersten reached safely and was moved to second base by a base hit. With one out and runners on first and second, Jeremy Pearman came through again with a sharp RBI single to left field scoring Kersten from second to give the Padres a walk off win for the championship.

Congratulations to both teams for a fantastic season. The Padres will move on to play in the District 12 Tournament of Champions on Monday.
