LG Bats Come Alive with 14 Runs On 18 hits to defeat Redwood Empire 14-2

After a tough loss the night before in extra innings, Los Gatos 11u’s came out swinging against Redwood Empire Little League. After falling behind 1-0 after the first inning, Los Gatos pulled away for good with five runs in the second inning. Kyle Matar led off the inning with a Double. Grant Browder singled on a 2-2 count, scoring Matar;  Drew Oppenhimer singled; Ryan Carlisle got his first of four hits; Brixton Mentz-Bonnefield  doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring Browder and Oppenheimer;  and Skyler Levine doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring Carlisle and Mentz-Bonnefield giving Los Gatos a 5-1 lead. 

Ryan Carlisle had the hot hand on Monday, tallying four hits. Ryan singled in the first, singled in the second, doubled in the third, and singled in the sixth..

It was an impressive offensive evening for Los Gatos as they  racked up 18 hits. Ryan, Skyler, Colton K, Grant, Brixton, and Kyle M each managed multiple hits. Equally impressive was the team win on the mound. Los Gatos had 5 pitchers combine to give up only 3 hits and 2 earned runs with 6Ks. 

Los Gatos advances to face the winner of Turlock American Little League and Land Park Pacific Little League Tuesday night at 7pm in Turlock.
