Los Gatos Little League Families,
As we continue to navigate the guidelines from Santa Clara County, the Town of
Los Gatos and Little League International, LGLL wants to share an outline
of what this season will look like.
*In the Orange/Red Tier from the
County: LGLL will be able to
have teams/cohorts with 12 participants each to hold practices. These
practices will be similar to the “baseball camps” held during the Summer and
Fall seasons. For those that didn’t participate during the Summer or Fall
seasons - the teams got together a few times a week to hold practices. All
County protocols were followed at these practices with mask wearing by adults,
hand sanitizing and maintaining 6ft of social distance apart from each
other. No dugouts were used. The teams held inter-squad games amongst the
12 cohorts, worked on ball skills and overall had a great time during these
camps. Unfortunately, the teams were not able to hold any traditional games
against another team as that would put more than the 12 cohort limit on a
field.
For the Spring 2021 season, the ideal plan would be to have a regular season,
practices and games, but with Covid cases increasing and limited field space,
we are planning for a Covid Season which at first glance will very much
resemble the Summer/Fall camps. The Spring season registration will be first come first serve, again
due to limited field access - please do not delay registering. The LGLL Board will closely watch the
County/Town guidelines and as soon as adjustments are made to those guidelines.
LGLL will adjust - Our goal is to move into a regular season as soon as we
can.
Registration this season
will be broken into 2 online payments:
1.
1st
payment will be immediate at time of registration.
a.
This
will be 25% charge of the cost of the level your player will be participating
in.
b.
This
1st charge will help the League to offset all our annual recurring fees.
c.
This
1st charge will be NON-Refundable.
2.
2nd
payment will be automatically charged after the first practice.
a.
IF THE
SEASON IS CANCELLED BEFORE THE FIRST PRACTICE, this 2nd payment WILL NOT be
charged.
b.
This 2nd
payment is NON-Refundable after practice begins.
LGLL uses Registration Fees to cover mandatory annual costs to acquire and
maintain baseball and safety equipment, to pay field rental fees, league
insurance, and field maintenance. Fees are used to pay for baseball
skills and umpiring clinics for League Managers, Coaches & youth
umpires. They are also used to purchase uniforms, which players are
entitled to keep, as well as team and individual player pictures.
