General Information

·         All new and returning umpires are required to attend an LGLL sponsored clinic prior to the beginning of the season.

·         Umpires must fully understand the Official Regulations and Playing Rules of Little League Baseball and be able to enforce them. Especially at the Majors and AAA levels, umpires MUST have the confidence to make tough calls in critical situations.

·         Each umpire is responsible for having the home team coach sign his or her Umpire Card after every game.  Cards must be returned to the Snack Shack Umpire Box (AAA @ Balzer) and in the Equipment Room (all games played @ Blosssom Hill).  Paychecks will be based on games recorded on the Umpire Cards.  (Umpires should keep good personal records of their games umpired, in the unlikely event a card is lost.)

·         Umpires are responsible for finding their own replacements if they cannot make it to a game they are scheduled to work.  The Chief Umpire will provide the necessary phone list.

·         Umpires must wear proper attire. The League will provide Umpire shirts.  Use good judgment on pants and shorts.

·         ALL umpires must put their umpire equipment back in their respective areas.  Equipment should be cleaned for the next umpire and returned to the exact area where it was picked up.  The Commissioner of each league will regularly check on the equipment.

·         Umpires are paid at the end of each half of the season.
