C. Splaine - Single
W. Mingrone - Single, 3 runs
T. Nieman - 1 run
The Los Gatos American 10's made a remarkable
comeback effort to after being down 11-0.
Los Gatos scored eight runs in the 4th and 5th innings.  S. Martin kicked off the comeback with a hard hit double down the left field line.  J. Tabke followed with another double, scoring Martin.  E. Wood kept up the LG effort with a home run over the left field fence.  Two hits by R. Hayden and singles from W. Mingrone and C. Splaine helped bring LG back to within three runs.  Unfortunately, LG's comeback effort ended on a controversial note.  With one out in the bottom of the 6th, Martin was up-ended on his way to 2nd base by the Almaden 2nd baseman who was attempting to field a ground ball by J. Tabke.  Martin was called out for interference and then, after an umpire conference, Tabke was also called out because the umpires ruled that Martin's interference was intentional (meant to break-up the double-play).  This is a judgement call by the umpires and cannot be protested.  Of course, this was a very difficult ending for the LG 10's, but it in no way negates their amazing 6th inning comeback effort.
