2008 Player Evaluations - (ages 12, 11, 10, & 9 )1)
1/9/08 Due to last week's heavy rain and work underway at Baggerly, PLAYER EVALUATIONS WILL BE HELD AT THE LGHS SOFTBALL FIELD (map).
Evaluations are used by Majors and AAA level Managers to draft their teams. LGLL's 2008 Player Evaluation sessions are scheduled for Saturday, January 12th and Sunday, January 13th. Your child should attend Player Evaluations if:
he/she is Little League age 10, 11, or 12 and would like to
play in AAA or Majors.
(10 year olds who would like to be placed in AA, do not need to
attend evaluations)
he/she is Little League age 9 and would like to be
considered for the AAA draft.1)
(9-year-olds who plan to play in AA do not need to attend
evaluations. We estimate we will have approximately 20 spots in AAA for
the 9-year-olds. Currently, 97 9's have registered. Attending
evaluations does not guarantee that a player will be drafted.)
The Evaluation Sessions will be held at the LGHS Softball Field (map). Arrive at your assigned time and go to the player check-in near Snack Shack (look for the sign). Your child must check-in to receive his/her evaluation number. Each child will be given a pin-on number that must be returned at the end of the evaluation. Evaluation numbers have been assigned alphabetically by player last name.

Click here for an alphabetical listing of player evaluation groups and check-in times. Let us know if your child cannot make his/her evaluation session on either January 12th or 13th. Please send us an email and we will try to accommodate him/her at another time.
Please have your child bring his/her glove, bat, and helmet. We will provide bats and helmets to players who do not have them. Your child should wear appropriate clothing and footwear. We will evaluate players in the following areas:
Fielding ground balls and throwing them to 1st base
Fielding fly balls
Batting - pitching machine
Pitching
Speed - a timed 40-yard dash
In the event of rain on Saturday, January 12th, we will hold all sessions on
Sunday, January 13th and will hold make-up sessions on Saturday January 19th. In the
event of rain on a Session date, check
www.lgll.org before you leave for the field for the most up-to-date
information.
Notes:
1)
Players who are Little League age 8, but who were born between 5/1/98 and
7/31/98 AND who played in AA last season, may also attend an evaluation
session if they wish to be considered for the AAA draft. Please
note, these players will NOT be eligible for the Majors draft until they are
Little League age 10.
2) We expect it to take a total of 60-70 minutes for each group to check-in, warm-up, and be evaluated.
